I love baking full stop, but I enjoy re-creating some of my favourites. If you spend time on the site, you will understand what I like. You cannot beat a Cherry Bakewell pie, the pastry, and the delicate hint of almonds. Sheer bliss! Let me know your favourites, especially if they are not on our menu.

My Journey
How it all started
My love for baking started in my nanny’s busy kitchen, where I first learned to sift, mix, and create treats with her. Those early lessons sparked a passion that followed me into my teenage years. I adored my nanny and have fond memories of the time I got to spend with her. I then managed to get a job in a French patisserie just outside Oxford. There, I spent the weekends soaking up the art of fine baking. My job involved serving the customers and filling the jam doughnuts! adored my nanny and have fond memories of the time I got to spend with her.
Return to baking
Years later, during the lockdown, I turned to baking to give back. I delivered homemade cakes to the doctors and nurses at our local Sussex hospital to show my gratitude for their tireless work. The nurses called me ‘the cake lady,’ a name that has become part of my business identity and a daily reminder of why I bake.
What inspires me
Baking is about using quality ingredients and continually striving to improve with each bake. It is about creating an experience, a journey, from when the package arrives to the unveiling to taking the first bite, savouring the moment and trying to identify the individual flavours!
